GMA Network’s world-class programming continues to make waves in different parts of the globe with seven of its top-rating and highly-acclaimed TV series set to air in Russia this year.

Through its content distribution arm GMA Worldwide, GMA sold 248 hours of content, which will be dubbed to Russian, to a leading Russian broadcaster. The acquired titles are: Lolong (Crocodile Whisperer), Love You Stranger, Return to Paradise, Artikulo 247 (Article 247), First Yaya (The First Nanny), Love You Two, and Kapag Nahati Ang Puso (Broken Hearts).

The Philippines’ most-watched TV show in 2022, ‘Lolong (Crocodile Whisperer)’ tells the exciting tale of a man’s extraordinary friendship with a giant crocodile named Dakila. During its successful run, Lolong consistently dominated TV ratings, posting double-digit numbers every night. Bannered by Ruru Madrid, the series was the Philippines’ National Winner for Best Visual/Special Effects at the 2022 Asian Academy Creative Awards.

Another GMA Public Affairs-produced series last year, ‘Love You Stranger’ merges mystery and romance with folklore and filmmaking and stars Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos in their first-ever primetime TV series together. Their characters try to unravel the mystery surrounding the legend of a shadow creature called ’Lilom,’ and in the process also discover their past.

Hit GMA Afternoon Prime series ‘Return to Paradise’ will also be available in Russia. Top-billed by Derrick Monasterio and Elle Villanueva with Eula Valdes, it tells the story of two college students who find love while stranded on an island after a plane crash. As they survive life in the wild, they fall deeply in love with each other.

A riveting legal drama, ‘Artikulo 247 (Article 247)’ stars Rhian Ramos, Benjamin Alves, Kris Bernal, and Mark Herras. The series powerfully portrays the journey of a woman who becomes the victim of a frustrated homicide. Unfortunately, her attacker gets away with it because of Article 247 of the Philippines’ Revised Penal Code. As she moves on and tries to forget about the past, she finds herself faced with her attacker again and she is forced to fight for justice.

Philippines’ No. 1 show for 2021, ‘First Yaya (The First Nanny) is also set to capture the Russian TV audience. The series stars Gabby Concepcion and Sanya Lopez. It follows the story of Melody Reyes, a high-spirited and diligent woman from a humble background who rescues a child from an accident, not knowing that the child’s father is Glenn Acosta, a widower and the incumbent Vice President of the Philippines. Melody is eventually offered the position of nanny for Glenn’s children. Because of her sincere and kind nature, Melody bridges the gap between Glenn and his children. Romantic feelings soon blossom between Melody and Glenn.

Meanwhile, the well-loved primetime romantic comedy ‘Love You Two,’ which debuted on Philippine TV in 2019, stars Jennylyn Mercado, Gabby Concepcion, and Shaira Diaz. It features Raffy, the overprotective sister of Sam who is in love with Jake, a man twice her age. Raffy worries Jake will take advantage of Sam’s naiveté and makes it her mission to separate them. However, Raffy realizes that Jake is a good man and soon finds herself falling for him.

Completing the list of GMA shows is the drama ‘Kapag Nahati ang Puso (Broken Hearts)’ starring Bea Binene, Sunshine Cruz, and Benjamin Alves. The series, which aired on GMA Afternoon Prime in 2018, tells the story of an unsuspecting mother and daughter who unwittingly become fierce rivals. Rio is separated from her baby who grows up to become a young lady named Claire. The two cross paths in the world of fashion. They develop a close relationship until they both end up falling in love with the same man, Joaquin.

Through this partnership in Russia, a first for GMA Network, Russian viewers will experience and enjoy the best of Filipino entertainment.
