A tender romance for insomniacs whose stories doesn’t get told a lot, this Filipino queer series “Sleep with Me” starring Lovi Poe and Janine Gutierrez bagged the Audience Award for Best Episodic at the Outfest LGBTQIA+ Film Festival in Los Angeles. The series follows the narratives of Harry, an overnight radio DJ, and Luna, a woman with a sleeping disorder.
Outfest is a queer arts, media, and entertainment organization offering programs designed to increase access, diversity, and visibility for storytellers and audiences alike. They help LGBTQIA+ storytellers overcome barriers to entry into the entertainment industry by providing critical skills, access, and support to both emerging and established filmmakers.
On July 4, Poe announced on her Instagram account the news that the upcoming series directed by Samantha Lee, under Dreamscape and Project 8 Projects, is set to screen in the Episodes section of the 11-day international film festival that highlights LGBTQIA+ stories.
