Filipino graduate Enzo Miguel Kho has been elected to the Princeton University Board of Trustees as one of its Young Alumni Trustees. The 23-year-old scholar, who originates from Mabinay and Dumaguete in the Philippines, was chosen through an election conducted among members of Princeton University’s graduating classes from 2024 up to 2027. His tenure of four-years on the university’s governing board officially began on July 1, 2026, and will continue through June 30, 2030.
The position of Young Alumni Trustee carries full fiduciary and organizational responsibilities within Princeton’s central governance structure. These trustees do not serve merely as advisory student representatives; instead, they hold the exact same legal rights, voting powers, and official duties as all other trustees on the board. In this capacity, Kho will contribute to executive decisions and policy discussions concerning the long-term strategic interests, financial management, and academic direction of the Ivy League institution.
Kho completed his undergraduate education at Princeton University in 2026, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a certificate in urban studies. His path to the Ivy League institution started in 2022, entering the university as a 19-year-old full-ride scholar from the Philippines. During his four years of study, Kho maintained a high level of campus involvement, serving as the president of Princeton’s Undergraduate Student Government while also participating in organizational initiatives led by the Princeton Filipino Community.
In recognition of his notable service and sustained contributions to the campus population, Kho was awarded Princeton’s Walter E. Hope Class of 1901 Medal. Beyond his university commitments, Kho co-founded the Alliance of Empowered Youth in the Philippines, a national organization focused on connecting young people from rural Filipino communities with educational opportunities, leadership networks, and civic programs.
Following his graduation and appointment to the Board of Trustees, Kho will transition to postgraduate studies in Asia. He has been selected as a Yenching Scholar to pursue a master’s degree in politics and international relations at Peking University. The scholarship program will support his continuing work in governance, international policy, and public service, marking the next phase of an academic journey centered on leadership and service to the Philippines.
As a Young Alumni Trustee, Kho holds the exact same voting power and responsibilities as every other board member, helping oversee university policy, academic programs, and strategic direction alongside established global leaders. This marks not only a significant personal milestone for him, but a milestone for the nation as his journey shows that young Filipinos do not just belong in elite global spaces—they are fully equipped to govern them.
