The 26-year-old queen always describes herself as non-binary and even posted on Instagram saying, “Sometimes I’m Beatrice/Bea, other days I feel like being Luigi. It’s about being feminine and masculine at the same time.”

Gomez is not a newbie in pageantry. In 2015, she was crowned as second runner-up in the Miss Mandaue pageant and 5 years later, bagged the title as Binibining Cebu.

During her MUP 2021 journey, Gomez stood out in the competition as she ranked 6th in the interview challenge, won the introduction challenge, and bagged the Best in Evening Gown and Best in Swimsuit awards.

Moreover, to name a few of her achievements, Gomez is not only a beauty queen but also works as a community development worker and a part of the navy marine community as a reservist under the 82nd marine battalion of the Naval Reserve Center of Eastern Visayas. She is also a sports enthusiast who is into volleyball, boxing, scuba diving, runner, MMA, and a certified cat lover.

During the coronation night, the beauty queen was asked if she would continue to inspire others and if there was a time during her reign that she felt sad and uninspired.

“It is very evident that all of us went through difficulties during this pandemic, but it is also proof that we are able to rise to the occasion,” Gomez said.

“If anything happened to me during my reign, I will not give up and inspire others by rising to the problems that I am encountering and by inspiring them that what you are going through, you will be able to overcome it,” the beauty queen added.

Alongside Gomez, four other women bagged the titles at the event including the following:

  • Miss Universe Philippines 1st runner-up: Miss Pangasinan Maureen Christa Wroblewitz
  • Miss Universe Philippines 2nd runner-up: Miss Cebu Province Steffi Rose Aberasturi
  • Miss Universe Philippines Tourism: Miss Taguig Katrina Dimaranan
  • Miss Universe Philippines Charity: Miss Cavite Victoria Velasquez Vincent

Cebu City beauty who dashed and competed for the other 99 delegates in a series of challenges is now set to represent the country at the 2021 Miss Universe pageant in Israel this December.
