Their woven tote collection, which resembles a bayong, elicited reactions from Filipino netizens online.

The limited-edition collection includes five different colors of woven tote bags. According to Mansur Gavriel’s Instagram account, they are excited to introduce their first-ever upcycled capsule made of hand-woven bag trimmings from classic vegetable-tanned leather bags.

They also stated on their website that they are committed to maximizing their material use in order to minimize waste for a more sustainable future. Their capsule represents a significant step forward in the creation of something both functional and beautiful.

The hand-woven bags, which are made in Italy, are said to fit a 14-inch laptop.

Mansur Gavriel’s upcycled capsule is eerily similar to our bayong in the Philippines.
