An additional 2,182 patients have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), pushing the country’s overall tally of recovered cases to 2,761,617 on Tuesday.

In its 4 p.m. case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) said the figures represent 97.7 percent of the total of 2,827,820 confirmed infections nationwide since last year.

The agency also reported 1,153 new confirmed cases, bringing the total active case tally to 18,721 — lower than Monday’s 19,798.

Another 195 new deaths, meanwhile, brought its toll to 47,482.

The DOH said about 55.2 percent of the active cases are mild, 4.7 percent are asymptomatic, 13.8 percent are severe, 20.51 percent are moderate, and 5.8 percent are in critical condition.

DOH data on November 21 showed that 2.3 percent of 25,562 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

“There were 99 duplicates that were removed from the total case count, and of these, 94 recovered and one is death. Some 87 cases were found to have tested negative and have been removed from the total case count, and of these 68 are recoveries,” it said.

“Moreover, 170 cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it added.

Two laboratories were not operational on November 21 while 8 laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Repository System.

Based on the data in the last 14 days, the ten non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 2 percent of samples tested and 2.2 percent of positive individuals.

Nationally, only 32 percent of 3,700 intensive care unit beds; 28 percent of 20,000 isolation beds; 17 percent of 13,300 ward beds; and 18 percent of 3,100 ventilators are utilized.

In the National Capital Region; utilized are 31 percent of 1,300 intensive care unit beds; 25 percent of 4,800 isolation beds; 23 percent of 4,000 ward beds; and 20 percent of 1,000 ventilators. (PNA)
