In a series of Twitter posts, Sponge Cola’s lead singer and guitarist, Yael Yuzon shared how the hit Korean drama ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ inspired him a lot that urged him to write a new song.

Yuzon shared that Kim Seon Ho’s (the male lead) character was very much relatable and he appreciated the plot of the drama which revolves around the life of the main characters in a coastal town.

This is not the first time that Yuzon has been moved by a drama which resulted in making a new song since he did it last year in Start Up.

“I write about things that move me. Nice show no? Para kang nagbakasyon sa isang coastal town with lots of love stories unfolding,” Yuzon shared.

The rock band’s frontman analyzed the message of the story said “Different forms of love, daming bases covered, perfect balance ng light & weight, parang life lang, minsan mabigat, minsan magaan.”

He then contemplates the title of the song whether “PENGUINS AND POLAR BEARS” or just simply “HOMETOWN.”

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is a Korean drama series available on Netflix that depicts the life of Hye-jin (played by Shin Min Ah), a dentist who moves to the seaside village of Gongjin. There, she meets Dusik (Kim Seon Ho), an unemployed jack-of-all-trades. While the two initially clash because of their different personalities, they later grow fond of each other and fall in love.

This hit Korean drama also scored and unfolds different life situations of the people living in the said town.
