Inspired by the “Oplan: Tokhang” that’s been clanging bells in the drug war in the Philippines for quite some time now, BuyBust emerged to be one of the challenging films there is to see.
Anne Curtis led action thriller, the film revolves around Nina Manigan, a rookie police officer of an anti-narcotic elite squad who is assigned to a buy bust operation in the slums of Tondo, Manila. But when her new mission in the city’s most dangerous slum backfired, the angry civilians turn on her squad. Trapped between a brutal drug gang and hordes of bloodthirsty citizens, their only option is to fight their way out.
Watch this with your fellow politically-inclined buddies because this film will surely provoke an excellent discussion that could extend to other discussions as well. Challenge your level of discussion with this film! Must watch.
