It’a given that you have a lot of options when choosing a product. If we talk about cleansers, it’s overwhelming to know that there are A LOT of them out there— from the traditional soap cleansers, facial wipes, cleansing balms, oils, to micellar waters.
It is noted that Asian countries such as Korea and Japan played a huge role in the popularity of skincare. Turns out, the use of seltzers, or carbonated water has been a trend in the mentioned countries for quite some time now.
Roberta Del Campo, Miami-based dermatologist explained the pH levels in products we use. Carbonated water has a pH of 5.5 which is the same pH of our skin while tap water has a pH of 7, which can reportedly disrupt the skin surface, which leads to dryness and irritation.
This isn’t just trendy, but is said to have benefits as well. Carbonated water acts as a vasolidator which basically means that it can improve blood supply for a healthier, brighter and blushed complexion.
