Despite the decline in the economic growth of the country due to the pandemic, Senator Cynthia Villar and Senator Manny Pacquiao remained as the top 2 Richest Senators of 2020.

Following the summary of the 2020 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs) posted on the Senate’s official website, Villar kept her position as the richest among her colleagues with a net worth of PHP 3.87 billion.

Villar is the wife of the former Senator Manny Villar—hailed as the country’s second-richest based on Forbes magazine’s list of the Philippines’ 50 Richest as of September 2021.

The Villar family also owns the Philippines’ biggest homebuilder Vista Land, Golden Bria Holdings, and Starmalls Incorporated.

Boxing tycoon, Senator Manny Pacquiao, who recently announced his Presidential bid in the 2022 National Elections, earned the title as the second richest Senator of the country with a net worth of PHP 3.18 billion.

Remaining as the poorest member of the chamber, detained Senator Leila de Lima acquired the lowest ranking with a net worth of PHP 9.5 million.
