How can Sol be laid to rest?
On the third year of “TO Farm Film Festival”, director Roman Perez Jr. brings the dark-comedy film Sol Searching, that bravely speaks about the realities in the lives of the teachers and farmers in our country.
The story revolves around strict and straightforward grade school teacher Sol Dolores (Gilleth Sandico) who is the only person that has the guts and patience to educate the farmers. Living in a province whose only source of livelihood is farming, Sol saw what others had left as is—that their village’s farmers lack the knowledge and funds to produce enough crops for a living.
Now that she’s dead, her husband Djanggo Dolores (Joey Marquez) does not have enough funds to have her buried. It came to the point where her coffin had to be brought by Lorelei Baloloy (Pokwang) and Bugoy (JM Salvado) to various places so they could get enough funds or finally find someone who can help bury her.
Will the community finally get enough funds to have teacher Sol buried? Or will they find among themselves the solution that has been there all along?
