For the first time ever, the Philippines is set to participate in the first World Expo ever to be hosted in the Middle East, Africa in 2020.
The country’s participation was confirmed after the signing of Administrative Order 17 where the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary was tasked to chair the community with the Commissioner-General of the POC and the Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary will serve as chairpersons.
The design of the PH Pavilion was disclosed as something “innovative” and “contemporary” that aims to announce the world that we [Philippines] is now a country of innovation.
The PH Pavilion will be located in the Sustainability area of the Expo 2020 site designed to look like a “living coral reef” with housing gardens, a plaza, viewing deck, and other amenities.
Budgi+Royal Architecture and Design will be leading the presentation to “bring the country’s natural beauty, historical attractions, and innovations to the world stage.”
The PH, together with 191 other countries, will be presenting their pavilions in Expo 2020 Dubai that will be accessible to 25 million visitors.
