Jeepney TV, one of the brands under ABS-CBN’s subsidiary, Creative Programs Inc., thanks its online viewers as its YouTube channel becomes eligible for the platform’s Silver Play Button.
From just 12,000 subscribers in February this year, Jeepney TV’s YouTube channel breached the 100K mark in only five months. It has logged almost 16 million views, with 92.4 million minutes of watch time from 2019 alone. Subscribers and non-subscribers alike are engaged by its fast cut episodes of classic ABS-CBN programs, such as “Home Along Da Riles,” “Palibhasa Lalake,” and “G-mik,” plus in-depth celebrity interviews from its original production “Showbiz Pa More.”
Jeepney TV’s fast growth on the digital space also extends to its official Facebook page which to date has amassed over 1.5 million followers, with an impressive 336.5 million minutes of total video views from January to June 2019. Among its top viewed content are #RelateMuchKaBa and Trending, which are re-purposed content from Kapamilya shows.
Jeepney TV began as a cable TV channel in June 2012 and remains to be among the Top 25 cable and niche channels nationwide. The channel’s coverage further expanded when it was launched among the new DTT channels of ABS-CBN TVplus in August 2018. It currently ranks as the No. five channel among households with ABS-CBN TVplus boxes.
