Last Saturday, February 02, 2019, thousands of Filipino fans and celebrities attended what would be the very first Blackpink concert in the Philippines.

Fans and celebrities alike cannot help but be stunned as the K-POP group performed under the pink lights of the Mall of Asia Arena.

Filipino “blinks,” – blackpink fans – sang and danced to the iconic songs of the quartet while carrying their hammer-shaped light sticks with glowing hearts and proclaimed that ‘Blackpink is the revolution,” a chant that all blinks agreed upon.

According to fans, the concert was more than just the songs and the lights and the dancing. They actually conveyed messages of women empowerment, self-love and youth.

It was not surprising that the quartet started their two hour concert with the young and free “Forever Young,” and the iconic “Ddu-du Ddu-Du” which aroused the energy of the fans who waited for months for the quartet to perform in Philippine grounds.

K-POP wasn’t the only songs they performed that pink night. The girls sang and performed their own covers of Zedd’s “Clarity” and the Beatles’ “Let it Be”.

Although the concert was short-lived, Filipino fans only hope that the girl group will be able to come back and perform in the country.
