How do you feel about this story?

The most beautiful pageant in the universe just gave us a first glimpse of probably the most expensive crown they ever had.

‘Power of Unity’ is the 10th Miss Universe crown since the organization was founded in 1952. It boasts a total of 1,770 diamonds including 167 carats that were intricately designed by hand on 18-karat gold.

Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, revealed in a press conference that the crown is worth a whooping $5 million or roughly ₱253 million

As per Alain Mouawad, one of the 4th generation co-guardians of the Mouawad Retail Division, the biggest diamond placed in the middle of the crown alone weighs 62.83 carats. Whew, talk about the overwhelming responsibility of being the Miss Universe!

Miss Universe Catriona Gray will pass on the Miss Universe title and crown to her successor on Sunday, December 9 (Philippine time) at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
