It was a big leap hearing that the rumored Barbie live-action movie is making its move to the big screen.
Girls went gaga over the news that the favorite childhood cartoon “Barbie” will turn into reality. Mattel and Warner Bros. Picture announced that they have selected Margot Robbie, Academy Award-nominated actress to take the main character of the movie on Tuesday.
Barbie, in animation, has been appearing in the screens since 2001 and its first movie was titled “Barbie in the Nutcracker.” Beauty and fashion were not the only significant identities of the iconic fashion doll but also teaching little girls that they have the right to choose and serving as a role model to them.
Ruth Handler, creator of the iconic fashion doll, once said, “My whole philosophy of Barbie was that, through the doll, the little girl could be anything she wanted to be. Barbie always represented the fact that a woman has choices.”
Making the movie successful, Margot Robie will also work as a co-producer with LuckChap Entertainment. “I’m so honored to take on this role and produce a film that I believe will have a tremendously positive impact on children and audiences worldwide,” Robie said during her interview with the media.
The live-action Barbie movie will be released in 2020 and the little girls, of course, today will learn a lot.
