If you’ve ever watched the movie “Hidden Figures,” you would have noticed that women working at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) often find themselves in a male-dominated field. This didn’t stop Castro-Kelly from becoming NASA’s first female Missions Operations Manager in 1990. She oversaw the Earth Observing System during the development phase of its missions and later become the Science Interface Manager after the satellites were launched in space.
